GENTLEMEN, STOP SAYING VALENTINE’S DAY IS A HALLMARK SCAM!

jamviews

LESSON: Gentlemen, grasp any opportunity you can to celebrate your loves – wives, moms, girlfriends, daughters, and sons. Look for excuses to celebrate! Only a sad soul says Valentine’s is a commercial scam.  Celebrate it and give it a great effort!

A little break this week from our leadership and capitalism lessons to encourage your soul – it all must be working together or a breakdown in any “circle” bleeds over into all the others.

I am shocked by how many of my associates over the years call Valentine’s Day a commercial Hallmark scam.  I am sad for their perceptions and lenses on their cameras.  Life is crazy hard, and sometimes only bearable if we take those very few precious moments to celebrate all those around us, or even ourselves.

Take it from a guy who had the world, lost the world, and by a miracle regained the world.  Please embrace the opportunities which allow us to stop working 20 hours a day and be nicer than we normally are.  The universe is watching us all, and we eventually get what we give.

There are 3 or 4 historic stories of the origination of Valentine’s Day. One states that St. Valentine was one of the first Christian martyrs when the general persecution of Christians started in the Roman Empire. He had befriended the jailer’s daughter, where he was being imprisoned, and when he died, he left her a note inscribed with “From your Valentine.” Other accounts say that exchanging cards on Valentine’s Day recalls how St. Valentine would send notes to fellow Christians from prison.

This weekend do not be the guy who looks miserable at the packed restaurants because he was forced to go.  This weekend, when your wife says, “No, I don’t want any flowers or gifts,” know it is only her defense mechanism because we have disappointed them so many times before.

Make it happen, gentlemen!  Plenty of time to run out after work today and surprise your incredible family and friends!

Have a great week! Love to Ashleigh, Cole, Carleigh, Charlene, Don, Linda, and Bill.
